Discover the Heart and Soul of Geniusville Academy

Who We Are

Geniusville Academy is the new name to what used to be Kids At Work Learning Center after being purchased from the previous owner. This school has been at this location for more than 30 years, serving residents of Mangonia Park, West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, Lake Park, and surrounding areas. We now have children attending the program whose grandparents also attended the school.

Our Owners

Geniusville Academy is owned and operated by a married couple, Samuel and Jemima Pierre. Jemima brings a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Her experience with working with children goes back 20+ years when she accepted her first job from the city of Boca Raton at their 2001 summer camp. She then worked as a substitute teacher for the School District of Palm Beach County for 8 years, then with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) as a dependency case manager for 5 years. Ms. Jemima is now a registered nurse but spends most of her time working at Geniusville Academy, averaging 10-12 hours a day.

On the other hand, Samuel Pierre is passionate about working with children. He started working with children back in 1999 when he was an HIV/AIDS peer educator raising awareness about HIV prevention among teenagers. Born and raised in Haiti, Samuel came to the States in 2007 and brought a Bachelor of Science in Education. In 2009, he was admitted to graduate school at Barry University, earning two master’s degrees, one in Public Health and one in Health Services Administration. Samuel is the author of “Never Again,” a healthy story published by the Miami Dade Health Department in 2011.

Samuel worked as a substitute teacher for the School District of Palm Beach County over a period of 8 years. He worked as the Disaster Program Manager for the American Red Cross for 8 years (2012-2020) and as a Senior Program Manager for the Florida Department of Health of Palm Beach County in HIV/AIDS for 2 years. Samuel is currently a Florida Realtor and co-owner and director of Geniusville Academy – a vocation he believes he was born for.
